Lauren Ashley Shapiro, PsyD | CA PSY #29059

Co-Founder & President of Neurovana
Licensed Psychologist

As Co-Founder and President of Neurovana, Dr. Lauren Ashley Shapiro guides organizational leadership, clinical strategy, and program development. She brings over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, with specialized expertise at the intersection of psychology, law, and medicine. At Neurovana, she integrates her background in forensic and clinical psychology with her commitment to advancing technology and innovation in mental health, a drive that led her to Neurovana and the transformative potential of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Lauren earned her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical-Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University’s California School of Forensic Studies, where she completed her dissertation on Contemporary Attitudes Towards Psychopathy. Her career includes extensive work in trauma, substance use, LGBTQ+ care, and late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults. She has conducted psychological and neurocognitive testing, forensic and legal evaluations, neuropsychological rehabilitation, and clinical consultation.

In addition to her leadership at Neurovana, Lauren owns and operates a private practice where she provides psychotherapy to clients, and she is also the owner of Mosaic Mental Health Group, a group practice specializing in clinical-forensic psychology. She is especially passionate about supporting queer, neurodivergent, and expansive-identity communities, bringing affirming and nonjudgmental care to populations often overlooked in traditional mental health settings.

Lauren lives in California, where she is active in cat rescue and shares her home with two cats of her own alongside a rotating number of fosters.
